“Massage” questions
Yes.
Most of our training courses are accessible to everyone. They therefore do not require any special knowledge.
Online “e-massage” training courses will allow you to study at your own pace.
You will be able to watch all the videos at your leisure and integrate the full massage, one movement at a time.
Our approach is ideal to introduce you to massage and will allow you to study the art of massage in the best possible way.
Certain techniques considered to be a “specialisation” or “professional development” in massage will however require a prerequisite or a first approach. This information is then clearly indicated on the e-massage website.
Yes.
Our training is also aimed at professional massage therapists, as well as all paramedical practitioners active in the field of wellbeing; aestheticians, midwives, chiropodists, reflexologists, sports coaches, physical trainers, nurses, physiotherapists, osteopaths, kinesiologists, etc.
“E-massage” training, specialisations and developments will allow you to perfect your art of massage and add new techniques to your daily practice.
Whether you are a professional massage therapist or simple fan of wellbeing, with “e-massage” you will find the best answer to your thirst for learning.
The best is to start with the “body massage” training. It will allow you to study, at your own pace, a complete massage session of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
You can then continue your learning with the “specialisations” of your choice, such as; hot stone massage, prenatal massage, back massage, lymphatic drainage, etc.
You can also perfect your art of massage by following the “professional development” massage modules.
Whatever the case, it is advisable to choose training that does not require any prerequisites. As such, according to your preference, you can choose between body massage, plantar reflexology, cranial massage, seated Amma massage or even the Kansu bowl foot massage.
Yes.
All our training courses are certified and allow you to work professionally, in compliance with the “wellbeing massage” legislation in force in your country.
Furthermore, our “e-massage” training centre is recognised by the “W.M.F”, or the “World Massage Federation”.
Yes, but without any obligation!
Having studied your course theory, watching and practising the massage technique concerned, you will have access to a “test”.
This is an exam that consists of 10 (random) multiple choice questions with no negative points.
You will have to achieve 70% in order to pass your “test” and obtain your “e-massage” diploma.
Yes.
After passing the “test” you will receive a personalised “e-massage” certificate. This diploma recognised by the “World Massage Federation” will certify that you have completed the relevant training and that you have passed your exam.
Yes.
If you fail, you can retake your exam as many times as you want, every 24 hours.
No, not necessarily…
It is not mandatory to follow any practical training to validate your skills. However, you will need to practise your massage plan as much as possible on volunteer models. Practise at least 2 to 3 massages per week over a period of one month in order to gain the necessary experience.
Yes.
There are many men and women who make a living from their passion. However, we advise you to start your professional practice in a complementary independent activity (for example part-time as an employee).
No!
All the necessary knowledge is covered in the written texts that accompany each training course.
This refers to relaxation massage, and not cosmetic, therapeutic or paramedical. The massage techniques offered by “e-massage” have the sole claim of providing wellbeing and relaxation massage.
No!
There is no age limit, in any sense.
However, some videos reveal the chest and the top of the buttocks. We therefore deem parental consent appropriate for those under 16 years of age.
More and more people are choosing to study massage both for their own pleasure but also to practise in an associative or professional setting to obtain additional income. Whatever your age, you are welcome at “e-massage”.
You will find a free detailed video on this subject on the “Bonus” page of the e-massage website. However, here is a small, non-exhaustive list of equipment to plan for to do a body massage:
– Massage table.
– Oil and cream.
– An appliance to heat the oil.
– Large towels and wash mitts.
– Neutral, loose and flexible massage clothing.
– A sound system to play music.
We advise you to use good quality neutral and mineral oils and creams, such as those used by physiotherapists. For example, the neutral body massage oil “Labo FH” and the hypoallergenic massage cream “Dermacrem” from the “Phytomedica” labs are good products.
In general, we recommend using oil for body massage, and cream for the face, feet and hands.
If you prefer to use 100% natural products, then opt for oils such as jojoba oil, sweet almond, apricot kernel, argan, etc. As for natural creams, you can use shea butter, teat cream, donkey milk cream.
Without taking into account the furnishing of your massage space and providing a good quality table (around €350 to €400 including tax), sheets and towels, an oil heater, a small sound system and a few other small items of equipment and consumables (oil, cream, containers, clock, relaxation music, towel warmer, etc.), you need to consider between €1,000 and €1,500 maximum.
“e-learning” questions
E-learning is a modern learning process that uses new digital technologies to bring courses as close as possible to everyone. As part of “e-massage” you will have access to complete and detailed content with written courses and explanatory and educational videos.
Among other things, you will be able to watch and rewatch all the videos as much as you like!
This is a resolutely avant-garde learning tool that is essential for studying massage in the best possible way.
As such, “e-massage” is a modern school, accessible to everyone, everywhere and at any time, allowing you to study massage in the best conditions and at your own pace.
1. Choose the training that interests you.
2. Proceed to secure payment.
3. Once your payment has been confirmed, you will immediately have access to your “cart” and can start studying.
4. Start by reading the course materials and then move on to the videos.
5. Learn the movements by heart by watching the demonstrations as many times as you like.
6. Use the “massage plan” video to help you practise the linked sequences on a model.
7. Apply what you have learned using the “massage plan” sheets.
8. Pass your test and receive your massage diploma.
Once you have chosen and paid for your training module, you will have immediate access to your massage course.
Each “lesson” includes:
– Written courses in theory, glossary of massage terms and a massage plan (except for the professional development ones which are obviously limited to the glossary of terms).
– Educational videos on the glossary of terms for the movements, basic principles and massage plans (except for the professional development ones which are obviously limited to the glossary of terms).
– Free access to additional videos such as: massage equipment, position of the massage therapist, stretches for the massage therapist, etc.
This depends on the training you take, as well as your ability to retain information. If we take the example of an average training course such as “body massage”, assume that on average, it takes 5 half-days to learn all of the material. You are then advised to practise 2 to 3 massages per week, for one month, in order to gain the experience necessary for your practice.
Either way, don’t rush things! Take your time to learn the content step by step;
1. Read the theoretical introduction.
2. Study and view the glossary of terms for the movements one zone at a time.
3. Then learn your massage plan.
We strongly advise that you set up a timetable dedicated to your training and you stick to it. Set up a work space away from any distractions or disturbances (noise, tablet, telephone, etc.).
Practise and study regularly (2 to 3 hours at least once a week) and progress zone by zone, without rushing.
The key advantage of e-learning is that you can study at your own pace and review the explanations of all the movements as many times as you like.
If in doubt about a massage movement, or how to position your hands, you will not only find all the detailed explanations in the written texts, “Movement glossary of terms”, but also in the various videos.
Once you have studied the different movements, zone by zone, in the written texts and/or on the videos, you can then move on to the massage plan.
Here again, you will not only have a complete written sheet detailing the entire massage regimen, but also an explanatory video showing the entire massage from start to finish.
With “e-massage” you will benefit from more than 30 years of educational experience in the field of wellbeing. Each practical lesson includes approximately 2 hours of videos containing explanations and demonstrations. Everything is designed to clearly explain how to practise professional massage. Simply apply yourself to reproduce all the techniques, step by step, movement by movement.
You will find a detailed video on this subject in the “BONUS” section, however here is the detailed description.
1. First of all, read your theoretical course materials carefully.
2. We then invite you to work through the massage movements in the glossary of terms for your theoretical course.
3. Carefully watch the “Glossary of terms” videos, zone by zone, to familiarise yourself with the various movements and their respective names.
4. Once you have learned the movements, move on to studying the body using the “Massage plan” video. Do not hesitate to use this same video as a “prompt” to easily familiarise yourself with the massage session.
5. Then simply take your “test” in order to obtain your “e-massage” certification recognised by the “World Massage Federation”.
– If this is your first e-massage training course, first watch the video “The position of the massage therapist” and “Preparing your equipment”.
You will find these 2 free videos in the “Bonus” section.
